Hollywood Math and Science Film Consulting Harlem Math and Science Award – $500 |
Sponsored by Hollywood Math and Science Film Consulting
Description:
- To be eligible, an entrant must be a student at a New York City public school and submit a film treatment or a short film that deals with math or science, with a preference given to mathematics, as well as an expository essay about the math or science in his or her treatment/film. Judges will be looking for creativity, and there should be an emphasis on storytelling in the submissions. Finalists will undergo an interview to satisfy judges that they grasp the material they have submitted. Since HMSFC is a creative organization, entrants agree that HMSFC has all rights to HMSFC’s own creative output, both now and in the future, and entrants waive all rights of action against HMSFC and its members. Written or electronic parent or guardian permission is required to enter.
HMSFC will be part of the selection process, receiving copies of all submitted treatments. The student’s parent or guardian will also have to indicate permission either electronically or in writing; both student and parent agree to further confirm this by e-mail or in writing if HMSFC requests.
Details on how to submit will be announced soon.
