Imagine Science Films would like to thank all of the filmmakers from around the world who submitted wonderful science-in-fiction films this year, our audience members and festival participants, and to congratulate this year’s winners!

Some final words about the 2009
Imagine Science Film Festival:

    From Award-winning Director Jim Capobianco:

“It has been an honor to be a part of this wonderful festival. For me it has been worth more to be honored in this way then to be accepted in the more ‘prestigious’ festivals that we all hear about, since it is only with the Imagine Science Festival that Leonardo can be recognized as a film that can cross two dimensions: that of telling an entertaining story and that of an educator. I thank Alexis for his vision to create such an important endeavor and all the volunteers and people who made the festival happen. And a huge thank you to the people who took the time to come out to be entertained and enlightened by all the films of festival when there are so many other distractions in our world today. As Leonardo da Vinci said ‘The noblest pleasure is the joy of understanding.’ This festival is most definitely a noble pleasure. Thank you.”

    From Juror Carl Zimmer:

“The movies in the Imagine Science Film Festival demonstrated how many different ways you can capture science with a camera. They were funny, melancholy, disturbing, and heartening. And in many cases, they were wonderfully, surprisingly beautiful.”
