- • ISFF seeks films, that effectively incorporate science into a compelling narrative while maintaining credible scientific groundings.
• ISFF seeks films that have a scientific or technological theme and storyline, or that have a leading character who is a scientist, engineer, or mathematician.
• The SCIENCE needs to be presented in a COMPELLING, NARRATIVE-DRIVEN and ACCURATE manner.
• Submissions must be in English or have English subtitles, and there must be a preview AND screening copy available in English or with English subtitles, excepting music videos and films without dialogue.
• If your film is accepted, ISFF generally screens off of DVD or Mini DV but we can often assist filmmakers in making transfers from other types of masters if necessary. We may also be able to screen in other formats as the festival gets closer.
• Submissions can be made by snail mail; payments for mail submissions should be made by check, money order or through PayPal. Films may also be submitted online through Withoutabox; please note that all filmmakers submitting through Withoutabox must make their submission fees through Withoutabox as well.

• All submission fees must be paid in U.S. currency. If you are submitting a film from outside the U.S. by mail, please pay with a credit card online via PayPal. Submission fees for entries made online through Withoutabox are made through Withoutabox.
• All filmmakers will receive notification, whether or not their film is chosen to screen as part of the fall series. Notifications will be sent out on or before September 15th.
