Synopsis

Taking place over the 16 days of the 2003 Columbia space shuttle mission, Dharini delves into the world of an imaginative young woman whose personal tragedy seems somehow linked to the greater cosmos. When a sudden accident forces her to confront questions she cannot answer, Dharini struggles to overcome a numbing grief and begins to grasp the vastness and mystery of a universe that cannot fully be explained.

DHARINI is a winner of the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Production Award. It has screened at festivals including the Sedona International FF in Arizona, Indo-American Arts Council FF in NYC, Bollywood and Beyond FF in Stuttgart, Germany, and won a Gold-Remi award at Worldfest Houston. DHARINI was also selected to screen as part of an American Film Institute Conservatory showcase at the 60th annual Cannes Film Festival in France.
