Synopsis

    Gavin Salam and his PhD student Matthieu Rubin are theoretical physicists based in Paris. Together they are trying to find a way to discover the Higgs Boson, AKA the ‘God Particle’ because of it’s importance to our current model of explaining how matter behaves. Although it’s existence has long been predicted, the Higgs Boson has so far eluded all attempts at discovery. The current attempt involved the construction of the new $6 billion Large Hadron Collider at CERN in Switzerland. Opened to much fanfare last year, things have not gone quite as well as had been hoped…

Director’s Biography

    Mike Paterson (Producer/Director) is a documentary filmmaker based in London. He previously worked for the BBC and Channel 4 in the UK before setting up as an independent producer. He has produced a range of award winning documentaries for broadcast, web and cinema distribution. Recent credits include working as Assistant to the Director on Sleep Furiously, the critically acclaimed documentary feature, and as Producer/Director for the Colliding Particles project, a series of films following a team of physicists involved in research at the new Large Hadron Collider at CERN in Switzerland.
