The opening night of the 2008 Imagine Science Film Festival, hosted by the New York Academy of Sciences, featured a five-person discussion panel on the expression of science through film. The panel featured Darcy Kelley, scientist and scientific advisor to the Tribeca Film Festival (and president of the 2008 ISFF jury), Sidney Perkowitz, author of Hollywood Science, Ari Handel, writer of The Fountain and associate producer of The Fountain and The Wrestler (and 2008 ISFF juror), Billy Shebar, writer of the film Dark Matter, and Ira Flatow, host of NPR’s ScienceFriday.
