You can help fund ISF’s programs and events!

In 2008, Imagine Science Films hosted the first Imagine Science Film Festival, screening 31 accurate and entertaining science-in-fiction films over 10 days, with 2,000 audience members in attendance. This October, 2009 Imagine Science Film Festival (ISFF) will screen approximately 25 short films and 4 feature-length films at venues across Manhattan and Brooklyn.

ISFF is a wonderful opportunity for both filmmakers and audience members; the films featured in the festival seamlessly fuse science with art, simultaneously entertaining and enlightening the audience, and also providing a unique setting for filmmakers to showcase their science-in-fiction films and compete for awards.

ISFF is the largest comunity outreach effort of Imagine Science Films. Festival costs currently make up 57% of the ISF budget, with a dedicated staff of volunteers and generous sponsors. We estimate an attendance of up to 5,000 this year — more than twice that of last year’s festival — and our expenses have grown accordingly.

Where will my donation go?

ISF is still in need of donations to fulfill the following needs:

• ISFF Screening Costs and A/V Support
• Community Outreach Efforts (including talks at local high schools)
• Grants and Prizes awarded to meritorious filmmakers
• Events Advertisement, Promotion and Public Relations
• Staff Compensation (currently pro-bono only)

As a registered 501(c)(3) tax-exempt non-profit, your donations to ISF will be tax deductable. Because overhead makes up only 9% of of our 2009 operating costs, you can be assured that your donation goes back into the community and the arts almost directly.

An Imagine Science Film Festival T-Shirt for donations of $250 and above. A First-series poster from the 2008 ISFF (dimensions: 20” by 30”) signed by the founding members, for donations of $1000 and above.
